“This is my advice to those who are planning to take an English proficiency exam: Believe in yourself and the rest will fall into place. Have faith in your own ability, work hard, and there is nothing you cannot accomplish.”

Taking PTE was a delightful experience for me. At first, I was a bit hesitant about it because I was unsure whether I could make it or just break it. I decided to take PTE to challenge myself to improve myself to improve my English proficiency score. Unlike the other English exams, PTE has a very distinct exam format. Thanks to CCN Review Center for guiding me all the way and for helping me get through minimal obstacles. With the Intensive review classes that I’ve attended, I could master each sub-test and was able to apply the specific strategies needed. In addition to this, the e-learning portal that the review center provided was definitely very handy since I was able to practice and access it at my own pace. What I love about the review was that the environment gave a very positive and relaxed feeling. It wasn’t pressured much and I was inspired to ace my exam. I would definitely recommend CCN Review to my peers who are planning to take the PTE. It surely was worth the penny! The review strategies were smooth and effective.

Big thanks to my mentor, Ms. Jenny.

“CCN gave me more than confidence to overcome these challenges.”

I decided to take PTE Academic because I’m planning try my luck abroad (AUS or NZ in particular). Due to the nature of my work (mainly office work even if I work in a BPO industry). I haven’t had much practice with spoken/conversational English because the main medium that we use to communicate is through email. I was really worried that I won’t be able to do well in the Speaking category of the exam. I even tried to apply for a higher position at work just so I could experience how to be interviewed again after a very long time. The experience helped me assess the areas that I need to work on. It made me realize that I should work on organizing my thought process, improve my vocabulary, and speak with confidence and conviction.

CCN gave me more than confidence to overcome these challenges. They provided online review materials to help me prepare and familiarize myself with the exam format. Their team has been very accommodating and patient in answering my questions (since I ask a lot!). They also gave me helpful tips and strategies to make sure I’d meet the required score.

The best thing I’ve learned from the review is that, whether we take the express or the intensive review, we should never lose our focus and we should work hard to achieve our goals. CCN team may give us the boost that we need but we should never stop practicing and we should never underestimate the exam.

I’d definitely recommend CCN review courses to my friends. Apart from the review itself, the support their team offers is just overwhelming. They’d even send SMS even after the review to check on your progress and to see if they could still help you in any way.

Number 1 advice is never drink diuretic beverages before the exam. Jen mentioned it to me during my revire and it proved to be really helpful. PTE exam is timed so restroom break during the first and second parts of the exam is discouraged. I encourage you to take the optional break (5 minutes only) after the second part of the exam. This is the perfect time to go to the restroom, drink, and eat some sweets to improve your memory and focus. Never take the exam with an empty stomach. Find a way to improve your focus especially during the speaking exam. There is a good chance that you will be distracted by other examiners (I was and I struggled during the first part). Make use of your time wisely especially during the last part of the exam. Believe it or not, I barely had 30 seconds left. Pray, pray, and pray. This is the most important thing. Pray, have faith, and put your confidence in God (but you have to do your part of course).

I’d like to believe that 5 years from now, I’d be a permanent resident in NZ already.

“Practice makes perfect. It may be overrated but it works all the time!”

I took PTE Academic because compared to OET and IELTS, it is more affordable with faster results. Also, since it is a computer-based exam, it has no potential for examiner bias plus there are no added fees for sending extra score reports. At first, I was not familiar with the exam format or style so I thought it was the same with IELTS. Before I attended the review class, I looked for some details about PTE on the Internet and in YouTube just to have an idea of the exam format. CCN helped me a lot, from booking the exam up to checking the results as I was confused with the process. They also helped me work on my weak points and created a realistic study plan that suited my needs and timeline. What I like most about CCN Is that the staff is very accommodating, encouraging, and professional. They are also friendly and were ready to answer my calls whenever I had questions. My one-on-one review class with Ms. Jenny was fun. She taught us with humor and made the entire learning plain and simple. The lessons were easy to understand and the whole class had a friendly and comfy environment. Another good thing about CCN is that they offer test vouchers at a discounted price which is great a help. I would definitely recommend CCN to my friends. My advise to those who plan to take PTE is that practice makes perfect. It may be overrated but it works all the time!
